AUST EEE Alumni serving as a Head of a department at Bangladesh Army International University of Science & Technology (BAIUST), Cumilla

Md. Kamruzzaman, an alumnus of AUST EEE 16th batch, has dedicated his career to serving the nation as a teacher. Currently he is an Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE) at Bangladesh Army International University of Science & Technology (BAIUST) in Cumilla. Before joining BAIUST, he held the position of Associate Professor and Head of the Department of EEE at Leading University in Sylhet.

Mr. Kamruzzaman completed his undergraduate studies at AUST in 2009, where he obtained a degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering. After his graduation, he pursued further education to enhance his knowledge and skills in the field of information technology. He completed a Master’s degree in Information Technology (MIT) from the Institute of Information Technology at the University of Dhaka. To further enhance his expertise, he pursued another Master’s degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from the Dhaka University of Engineering and Technology (DUET) in 2018, where he excelled with a CGPA of 3.83. This comprehensive academic journey equipped him with in-depth knowledge and a holistic understanding of the field of engineering. At present Mr. Kamruzzaman is continuing his Ph.D at Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology(BUET).

Md. Kamruzzaman has an impressive track record in the field of Electrical & Electronic Engineering (EEE) and has held various positions in prestigious institutions. From March 2017 to February 2021, he served as an Assistant Professor and Coordinator at Uttara University (UU) in Dhaka. Prior to that, from July 2015 to February 2017, he held the position of Senior Lecturer and Coordinator at the same institution. His expertise and dedication in this field are evident from his appointment as a research assistant and Assistant Project Director (funded by the UGC) at Dhaka University of Engineering & Technology (DUET) from March 2015 to December 2016. This research work was conducted parallel to his responsibilities at Uttara University.

From August 2014 to June 2015, he served as a Senior Lecturer (EEE) at Atish Dipankar University of Science & Technology (ADUST). Prior to that, he worked as a Lecturer (EEE) at the same institute from May 2011 to July 2014. During his time at ADUST, he contributed to the development and delivery of courses in the field of EEE, providing valuable knowledge and guidance to students. In addition to his work at ADUST, Md. Kamruzzaman also served as a Visiting Faculty in the Department of EEE at Ahsanullah University of Science & Technology (AUST) from April 2010 to September 2012. During this time, he shared his expertise in the field of EEE with the students at AUST, enriching their learning experience and helping them develop essential skills for their future careers.

Md. Kamruzzaman has published a total of 13 peer-reviewed international journal and conference papers including IEEE and scopus indexed. These publications serve as a testament to his commitment to advancing knowledge and understanding in the field of electrical engineering. His research interests encompass a wide range of topics, including power system, power quality improvement, system stability, IGCC power generation, coal gasification, smart grid, RFID, smart highway, smart vehicle, and renewable energy.

Md. Kamruzzaman is a highly accomplished professional with several major affiliations to his name. He is a member of the prestigious Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, Inc (IEEE), a global organization that brings together professionals in the field of electrical engineering and computer science. Kamruzzaman is also a member of the Institute of Engineers Bangladesh (IEB). Being part of IEEE and IEB allows him to collaborate with fellow engineers, share knowledge and best practices, and contribute to the growth and development of the engineering industry in home and abroad.

Mr. Kamruzzaman possesses a wide range of expertise in various areas of education. One of his key areas of expertise is Outcome-Based Education (OBE)-EEE Curriculum Formatting. He has extensive knowledge and experience in designing and formatting curriculum that focuses on achieving specific learning outcomes.

Furthermore, Mr. Kamruzzaman is recognized as a key resource person and trainer for teachers training on Online Teaching Learning Capacity Building (OTLCB). With the increasing reliance on online education, it has become essential for teachers to develop the necessary skills and competencies for effective online teaching and learning. Mr. Kamruzzaman has been instrumental in providing training to teachers, helping them enhance their pedagogical practices, digital literacy, and technological proficiency in order to create engaging and interactive online learning environments.

Md. Kamruzzaman is the son of M. A. Mannan and Rokeya Begum. His home town is in Chittagong. Beyond his personal and professional pursuits, Md. Kamruzzaman has actively engaged in community service. His commitment to the betterment of society is evident through various initiatives and projects aimed at uplifting the lives of those in need. As an AUSTian Mr. Kamruzzaman feels proud and always proactive to the society and country.
